DW is on an airplane bound for Utah. She will be attending a family reunion while YS and I hold down the fort here. YS is driving me nuts already, and we only got home from the airport 45 minutes ago. Last night he decided it would be fun to pour liquids onto the carpet and place little plastic things inside the resulting stains. So we've had two bottles of bubble bath, two cokes, and a bottle of carpet cleaner poured onto the run in the last 14 hours. I bring in the rug shampooer whenever he pours. The machines scares the hell out of him, and I want him to associate spilling with the machine. Meanwhile, I'm going through and putting any and all liquids out of reach. That's a really tall order when you think about it, so I'm sure I'll have more floor care opportunities this afternoon and tonight.

I giggle. The imaginations of kids just amaze me. I wonder what kind of creation he was making. In his mind I am sure it was a very important thing to do, to create. Then I feel your frustration...yikes! coke, bubble bath! My oh my what a mess to clean up. I hope the bubble bath doesn't create nothing but suds. I wonder if vinegar will help at all. I know it gives a good final rinse but I wonder if it will help with the sudsing. Hang in there. :)

Hi Randy. Just got back from a family reunion, and was so surprised to find out that one of my cousins has recently found out one of his sons is autistic. I saw my cousin's despair and frustration every time his boy had a meltdown, and the embarrassment every time his boy zoned out and did things repeatedly like throw dirt into the air or spin. So I thought about you, and your struggles. My cousin has a long way to go to accept the situation as well as you seem to. Feeling sad today about the world. --Brenda

Associating the machine that scares the hell out of him with spilling is a most excellent plan. Can YS make those kinds of connections? I guess we'll see.

I bet DW is delighted to be going. Sometimes (lots of times, for me) what I really want is for someone to just take charge and make up my mind for me.

DW's Cousin Ricky the fire-jumper will be picking her up at the airport. That side of her family has some interesting and fun characters in it, so she should have a good time at the reunion.
