Today's Daily Zen:

Worldly ups and downs
Should be treated
As lightly as clouds
Gathering and breaking up.

This is a great attitude to have, even if it does seem a little naive. Come to think of it, that's exactly how I used to view life. I'm working back to that, so I guess I'm really just going 'round in circles, or maybe it's just my nature.

This is a good one. I always think about how, when something seems overwhelming at the moment, there will be a time in the future, say in a year, where I'll look back on this thing that's stressing me out and think, "Ah, it wasn't that big a deal." That sentiment often helps me.

This is timely for me. I am really striving to live a drama/stress free life. And learning to accept what I can and cannot change is a tremendous help. I can't believe how much better my life has been with this realization. It's taken me years and years to learn that stress and worry doesn't change anything, it just usually causes illnesses. Should I mention I haven't had a severe Meniere's attack since this revelation? (knock on wood) Thanks, Randy

My comment to my 12 year old daughter when she threw a hissy about something she didn't get/like/want, was, "in 14 years you won't even remember this day."
