My understanding is that the vicarious, posthumous baptisms have been stopped only if the deceased in question is Jewish. So if you're Jewish, you might have to put in a special request. Otherwise, you're still fair game. It sounds as if you've got it all figured out. Well done!
ok, I am not speechless anymore having recovered from my shock of seeing old Joe's mug on my computer screen. Now I have to go and read what was said under the picture...
Sorry, Misfit--I still get a little upset when I think about the apparent paranoia and disdain some of the leadership the institutional church exhibit towards the discipline of history. It's always been a pet peeve of mine. I'd like to hope the J.S. Papers Project will herald in a new openness, but I have to wonder.
It's like you're speaking a foreign language. I'm so fascinated by the Mormon church, because I'm not one. Mormon, that is, not a "Mormon church". I was raised Lutheran, so pretty much everything else seems so...strict and...icky. No offense meant.

I heard on the public radio station this morning that the LDS people are getting on some nerves for posthumously baptizing their relatives.
It strikes me that such would be the best of all worlds, and so that's how I've instructed mine.

Just don't know where to begin on this religion in denial. So I'll just say Happy Joseph Smith Day, and leave it at that.
Ow! Headache.
I thought it was a good post. Why is it gone?
