Hillary Rodham Soprano?

Hillary Clinton does a spoof of the final scene of "The Sopranos," in which she takes the place of Tony, meaning that Bill takes the place of Carmela. One of my favorite characters from the show--the late John "Johnny Sack" Sacramoni of the New York family--appears in the ad with Bill and Hillary. I've got to admit it's kind of cute. Hmmm. Hillary Clinton as Tony Soprano. I wonder if we'll hear her utter the words, "pain and truth? Come on, I'm a fat fucking crook from New Jersey." Probably not, would be my guess.

I was going to write about my reevaluation of that final episode, then the Clintons do this.

As to the big question of whether Tony lives or dies, it really doesn't matter. What does matter is that none of these people have changed for the better, nor will they ever. Once that point was driven home, it was time to bring down the curtain.

Kudos to David Chase for loading up that episode with symbolic references to previous episodes of the show. To that extent, the finale was a thank you note to the show's long-time viewers.
